Torah Pointer (Yad)

Unlike most yads, which are made of silver, this yad is made of brass with a high copper content, meant to imitate gold. The inscription on the yad says, ‘Adonai is One and His Name is One,’ a verse that comes from the Book of Zechariah (14:9). This particular verse is part of the Aleinu, the prayer near the conclusion of a Jewish prayer service.
