This yad was designed by Ludwig Wolpert, a famous Judaica artist of the 20th century. A student at the Frankfurt School of Art, Wolpert left Germany during the rise of the Nazi Party and immigrated to Israel. He eventually became the head of the Department of Metal at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He finished his prolific career in America as the head of the Tobe Pascher Workshop at the Jewish Museum in New York City.
