This cup used for the blessing of wine on the weekly Sabbath or Shabbat is inscribed in Hebrew below the lip with these words from Exodus 19:8: “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” The Jewish calendar date of 5621 corresponds to 1861 in the Gregorian calendar.
