Inspired by this Torah finial in the Skirball collection, the artist has replaced the knob at the top of an elaborate Italian Torah crown with a colorful pomegranate. The pomegranate is associated with becoming filled with mitzvot or good deeds, as the pomegranate is filled with seeds.
